What I did while I had no laptop...

I know I've been MIA lately...you can blame my full-time weird working hours and grad school for that.  I'm at work now and it is dead here, so I thought I'd give a quick overview of what I did for that 2 weeks I was without a laptop (my camera picked up some of the missing laptop slack)...

I made Supermodel Kitteh strike some fierce poses...
Prevented a kitteh brawl or two or ten...
Had a small superbowl party and cooked up some deliciousness (most of which didn't last long enough for photo-ops)...
here are the pretzel/rolo/pecan things
...and things wrapped in bacon.  I love things wrapped in bacon...
I was convinced by my boss (and then my student and some co-workers and then even more so by my twisted chick-brain) that I was probably pregnant.  I wasn't.
I cut up my remaining credit cards...well...all but one with a $500 limit for emergencies.
I went to some kind of mind-body wellness expo that my step-father in law had a booth at with his art.  I call it a hippie convention.  Anyway...he was next to a girl who was a massage therapist that had a drawing for a free 30 minute massage.  I won!  I've never had a massage before, and I've ALWAYS wanted one so I'm really looking forward to it.  Anyway, after we left there we stopped at a place for smoothies that looked out over a frozen lake (one of - not sure which...Monona?) and I thought I'd run out in the street and take pictures...
Then I went back to Corey's mom's and envied the dogs laying out on the deck enjoying the sun...

The next day I went with Corey's mom and grandma to Olbrich Gardens where I took far too many pictures and also managed to totally sweat my ass off.  I will write about that next time!

Some numbers...

I joined Curves finally...a little over 3 weeks ago.  Right after that, I started working full time and my full time grad school picked up again.  Awesome timing.  I hadn't been back since the day I joined.  When you first join, they take some measurements - I did those tonight.  I am going to put them here.  I don't have any qualms about this sort of thing.

Before I do, let me say that I know that there quite a few people I know that weigh a lot less than me, and quite a few that might weigh the same or more.  Many of them are happy with their weight and physical condition, others are not.  I am not.  What matters is not the numbers, but if someone is content with however they are.  By putting my numbers out there, I am not saying anything about anyone else when I complain about any of my numbers. It is a very personal thing.  I've known people half my size who are miserable with their weight and have horrible body image issues, and I've known just as many (if not more, actually) who weight much much more and are completely content, so please, no matter what kind of relationship you have with your weight/body/condition/etc...don't let it be affected by the things I say about mine.

I hope that makes sense.

Anyway.

Height:  5'7
Weight: 186
(a tie for my heaviest ever, which was my last year in the army.  The year I went from 146 to 186)

Bust: 42
Waist: 37
Gut: 43
Hips: 43.5 (see...I really am built like a tree trunk!)

Body fat: 33.5%
(The healthy range for my age group maxes out at 32%)

Pounds of body fat: 62 lbs.

So let's work on this, ok?

Chop chop.

I got my hair cut last weekend and I wanted to post pictures sooner, but I am STILL laptop-less (which angers me) so I didn't really have a good way to do it. I knew it wasn't impossible - just a pain in the ass. Anyway, here are some very un-flattering before and after pictures:

Before - self portrait in the truck

Some other before shots with Hoover. I have quite a bit of natural curl.

I'm putting this here just to show you how much was cut off. And to gross you out.

After: Very layered and auburn/brown with highlights

And a self portrait outside the next day at Olbrich Gardens:

I love it! Thanks Barbie.

Whoops.

So I guess I missed the memo that it was our 6 month-iversary on January 26th because I'm seeing all these blog posts from my friends about theirs.

Since I like to take shortcuts and the easy way out sometimes I'm going to copy this for shiits 'n giggles...
Answer these questions about you and your significant other.

1:: What are your middle names? Rachel & William
2:: How long have you been together? 9 years next month
3:: Do you have any children together? Not yet.  Our time is coming.
4:: What about pets? 2 cats and 5 fish that we haven't killed yet.
5:: Did you go to the same school? Not high school, which is what I think this question is asking.
6:: Are you from the same hometown? Nope, not even the same time zone.
7:: Do you live in the same town now? Sure do!
8:: Who is the smartest? It depends on the subject.
9:: Who is the most sensitive? I am, I guess.  Neither one of us are very sensitive people though.
10:: Where is the first place you went to eat as a couple? Uh...? Probably the chow hall on base.
11:: Do you wear matching clothes? No, except we sort of did in our engagement pics.
12:: Where is the furthest you have traveled as a couple? 2 cruises.  Plus we met in Germany.
13:: Who has the craziest ex[es]? Me.  Hands down.
14:: Who has the worst temper? Me.  Hands down again.
15. Who does the cooking? He does.  I like to cook but I'm not home at dinner time and he is VERY picky.
16:: Who's more social? I am.
17:: Who is the neat freak? Neither of us really, but more me than him.
18:: Who is the most affectionate? About the same.  Which isn't a lot.
19:: Who is the most stubborn? Definitely him.
21:: Who wakes up earlier? Until last week, it was him.  Now we get up at the same time.
22:: Where was your first date? Define "date".  I guess you could say the brigade signal ball while we were in the army.
23:: Who said "I Love You" first? He did.
24:: How did you spend your 1st year anniversary? We haven't been married a year and didn't celebrate any dating anniversaries.
25:: Who has the bigger family? Me
26:: Who is younger? I am by about a year and 8 months.
27. Who is the life of the party? That would be me.
28:: Who do you hope your kids turn out more like? A little of each of us.
29:: Who wears the pants in the family? We are pretty equal.
30:: What's your favorite thing to do together? I don't think we really have a favorite.
31:: Do you have the same political views? Yes and no.
32:: Who has the most stuff? I do for sure.
33:: Who controls the remote? I bet my fingerprints can't even be FOUND on the remote.
34:: Who does the driving? I let him drive because he makes a shiitty passenger.  Drives me nuts.
35:: Who takes out the garbage? Mostly him, but I do once in awhile.
36:: Who does the cleaning? He mostly does kitchen, I do the rest.
37:: Who does the laundry? He is not allowed to do laundry.
38:: Who is the funniest? I would say he is, but he would probably say me.

Oh, hey!

I'm still alive, just busier than hell and laptopless.

Heheheh.  I said "topless".

And I'm easily amused.

Anyway, that thing I call Hell (grad school) started back up.  In just over 3 months I will be done, but there is a LOT of stuff to finish up in those last 3 months, so my posts may be scarce on top of the other reasons.  I also started working at the PT clinic again last week so I'm working another 15 hours or so a week on top of my normal 30-ish at my regular job.  My classes are largely in-person instead of online this semester so that tacks a bunch more time onto my disappearing act.

So not only is there all of that, I have also been sans laptop for a little over a week and likely have another week to go.  My internal wireless card crapped out, not to mention some abnormal wear on my mouse pad thing that I'd been putting off asking about.   Anyway, my laptop had a 2 year warranty with a little time left on it so if I wanted it fixed for free, I had to part with it for 10-14 days.  The timing sucks with school, but at the same time, I have been phenomenal at keeping up with my school work while it has been gone.  Those interwebz sure are distracting.

I'm looking forward to this weekend.  We are heading to Madison to hang out with the in-laws and Corey is going to go ice-fishing with some work friends.  I will be getting my hair cut and colored by my friend Barbie.  I'm craving a change.

So yeah, that is about all I have to talk about that isn't a time consuming or picture-heavy post.  Hope you're all doing well.
