I bought this!
It's a new neck/shoulder strap for my DSLR camera. I can't wait to get it. I probably shouldn't be buying new things, or anything for that matter. I justified it in my head somehow as I always do and hit the checkout button. Whoops.

Don't lose the baby's nail clippers.
OUCH.
It's deep too. I hope it doesn't scar.

Wait, what??
There are "reactions" under blog posts now? Umm, hello....AWESOME. I just now noticed this. Can I change them? How long have they been there? Is this a ploy for people to actually visit blogs instead of checking them out in Google Reader? Anyone?
Why we need a dog.
This is the scene under our dining room table and the high chair.
I can't keep up.
But I could with a little furry help...

Hello, Lover.
Mama went and splurged on a present for herself. You know. From Santa.

Ok...well...semi-splurge. I had a 30% off coupon and gift card for Kohl's.

I've been drooling over these for.ev.er. And I'm in love. It is hands-down the best home brewed cup of coffee I've ever had in my life.

So if you're ever looking for something to get me, you know, since I know you're all dying to get me something...I'll take k-cups. Or gift cards to Kohl's or Amazon.

Coming soon to a refrigerator magnet near you...
...when I finally figure out what I want to get.
I can count on one hand (maybe even minus a couple fingers) how many times in my life I've sent Christmas cards. Why? Well...I have no excuse. I'm lazy. I love receiving them and I love putting them up all over the door or a wall, but I never remember to send them. My favorite cards are photo cards - I love seeing how people and/or their kids have grown, aged, or changed over the years. With as many pictures as I take (TONS), I'm sure all of my future Christmas cards will be photo cards.
Thanks to a sweet giveaway from Shutterfly, I'm actually motivated this year. I've taken a bunch of pics of Sophie, and checked out their adorable designs - but I'm having a hard time choosing! For starters, my baby is too freaking cute. But then Shutterfly has a ton of new, super cute card designs this year too. I've had great luck with them in the past. I even made our wedding photobook through there, our Save-the-Date photocard for our wedding and have ordered tons of prints and quite a few enlargements, too. I've never been disappointed.

Photo Scavenger Hunt Day! Or...Mommy's First Day Alone.
Well hello.
Long time no rambleaboutrandomuselessthings...so I'll just jump right in.
Tomorrow, I am taking part in my first ever photo scavenger hunt around Milwaukee with a bunch of friends. I honestly don't really know what this entails or what is going to happen but I do know that I am probably going to have a lot of fun.
What else is tomorrow? Well...tomorrow will be my first day out away from Sophie. My first day that is - for lack of a better term - mine. Yes...she is almost 7 month sold. Up until now, I've been lucky to get an hour to myself...also known as naptime. There have been 3 doctor appointments that I've been on my own for too, but is that time really mine? If it was mine, I sure as hell wouldn't be spending it in the stirrups.
I'm nervous though. I'll be an hour and a half away because Corey is taking her to his mom's in Madison. What if she decides she hates the bottle again? What if the breastmilk I bring for her is bad from that excessive lipase thing again and she won't drink it? What if she won't nap? You know and I know that the answer to these questions should probably be something along the lines of "not your problem to deal with - enjoy your day out!" but I just can't help myself. I don't want my baby to be all unhappy and stuff.
Between Corey and my mother-in-law I'm sure it will be fine. If anyone gets frustrated they can hand her off to the other...but I have a feeling my mother-in-law is going to get the bulk of it. Regardless, they are my heroes tomorrow. In some ways I haven't thought that of it as a very big deal that I haven't had a day to myself or a date night with Corey, yet I look around at my friends with kids and feel like a freak and that it is WAY overdue. To each their own, I guess.
Is it wrong I'm more excited about this than I would be if it were a date night instead? Don't get me wrong - I love my husband and my baby so much it makes my heart stop sometimes, but no matter how much you love someone it's not good to be in each other's face 24/7. If I'm going to keep being "me", I need some time to myself.
Anywhoo...back to the scavenger hunt. Except I forgot what I was going to say about it. Other than Tara and I are going to dominate. Woot!

267-365/365. Project FAIL.
I'm not doing the project 365 posts anymore. I'm over a month behind in posting, and I find myself neglecting my blog more than ever because ever since I started the project, I feel some weird obligation to be caught up on those picture posts before I write anything else...and well...that's just not right. So after a little over 9 months, I quit!
I have the pictures, and I'm sure many of them will still make their way here. Particularly pictures of those bad kitties. I swear I have manybrilliant pointless things to say and random thoughts to spew, not to mention a lot of time on my hands.
By the way, if you didn't already know - I have another blog (that of course I'm also behind on) that I'm writing to/for Sophie about her baby/childhood, being a mom, stuff we do, etc. I would love to have something like this from when I was little so maybe someday she'll enjoy it too. It can be found at http://lifeasyourmama.blogspot.com ...you know...if you're bored and don't have 800+ things marinating in your google reader account.

By the way...
I have a different blog. It is dedicated to the bebeh and is/will be written mostly in the form of letters to her about her (and any future bebeh's) because I want her to have it to read someday. You're welcome to check it out if bebeh's are your thing or you just need more stuff to fill your time while you pretend to work.
It's called Life As Your Mama and you can find it by clicking on that.
Comments, encouragement, and respectful thoughts and opinions are welcome, judging and backseat parenting are not. You can keep that crap on this blog where I can tell you off with reckless abandon. :)
Someday when this Project 365 thing (that I'm way behind on posting) is over, I hope to write other stuff here. Right now I just can't keep up with much of anything. Now that I have a baby that naps in her crib though I expect that to change.

266/365. Feed Me!
We could not give her those plums fast enough. She reached out with both hands and shoved the spoon in every. single. time.

265/365. 5 Months!
The sock monkey is falling for the ol' yawn/stretch/put your arm around 'em routine.
And only 100 days left of this photo project! It's been fun in a lot of ways, but in others it's taken the fun away from it. Looking forward to it being over, but I refuse to quit.

263/365. Sophie's Room!
It's done and I love it! It's very relaxing in there. I love to sit there and snuggle and rock with her in the glider before naptime. She's sleeping awesome in here, too.

261/365. Feeties.
Yes, that is what we call them in our house.
She's learning that these can reach her mouth and she's pretty pumped up about it.
