Happy 32nd Birthday!

You don't read my blog, and we aren't even in the same state right now, but I love you and miss you and hope you had a great day. Thank you for being you, and thank you for putting up with me. I can't wait to see you when you get home tomorrow!

San Diego, Part 3: Ooh La La!

In case you don't know him yet, meet Buddy. Buddy loves toys. In fact Buddy has his own toy box at home and when he goes to it, he knows exactly what he is looking for and will dig until he finds it. Here he is with some of his favorites: a flat volleyball, a frayed rope named Rasta, and his latest addition from that morning - a stuffed martini in a glass marked "Ooh, La La!", complete with olives.

Just call him Bond. Bud Bond.

San Diego, Part 2: Easter

Saturday afternoon the girls and I made a last minute trip to the grocery store because really, how could we not color eggs and hide them when we're all in one place at Easter for once? Well, as you can probably guess, the egg coloring kits were slim-pickings by that time. Our choice was between Tinkerbelle and Disney Princesses. Obviously, we went with Tinkerbelle. We aren't the Disney Princess type of girls.

Below is a collage of the girls coloring, the result, some of the pretty flowers blooming in the yard, and one very zen kitty.

I can't get over how grown up the girls are getting. A. is getting beautiful and so nice, normal, and easy going. B. is kind of in an awkward stage, not to mention a little bit of a bitch. Yes, I just called my 11 year old sister a bitch. Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces, but man...I hope she grows out of this. And soon, for the sake of everyone around her. She's a smart kid though - once she is outside of the house, everyone thinks she is the sweetest, kindest, most well spoken child in all the land. Master of disguise, that one.

San Diego, Part 1: Sunrise, Sunset

Sorry it took me so long to blog (and by "blog" I mean show off my pictures) from the 9 days I spent in San Diego earlier this month. Look forward to several small and probably obnoxious posts of pictures and collages :)

I left Milwaukee on April 10th, but got to see this beautiful sunrise before I took off:

And here is the sunset from my mom's bedroom balcony that welcomed me on my first night there. There is about a week this time of year that the sun sets just right in between the trees and you can just make out the Catalina Islands for a few minutes. It was too cloudy for that this first night.

Happy Easter

...from sunny California!

I'm in San Diego spending some time with my mom and the family.  I'm having a relaxing time and my mom is getting some much needed rest.  My step-dad hid some eggs for the girls this morning...right before he left to go golfing.  Luckily he had an early tee-time, so I don't feel the need to call him a douchebag for skipping out on Easter morning...except for the part where he told my youngest sister to come and wake me up so someone could watch them find eggs since he was leaving.
Uh...
Hey...
You don't think maybe mom and everyone else wouldn't like to be up to witness this together?  Of course by then the youngest was a little antsy to go find things, so we got up rightthenandthere.  The girls colored eggs last night too - I have some great pictures of them that I will post later since my camera battery is dead at the moment.  You're never too old to color eggs!
Anyway, hope everyone is having a great Easter and not boring themselves to tears with my blog.
